Our little chefs

I meant to search for a cookbook and thus made a trip to the library on Wednesday. And since the kids were home due to PSLE marking closure, I brought them along. The two of them were on their own looking for books while I immersed myself in my pile of cookbooks... Its funny when both showed me the books they intended to borrow...

"Ma, they have really good recipes here. Can we borrow? We thought of cooking for you and papa on Saturday."

And so, today marks a new milestone for our precious kids... Nana cooked scrambled eggs and pancakes for breakfast... She cracked the eggs, weighed the different ingredients according to the recipe and managed the frying all by herself. Of course under our close supervision...

For lunch, Zac planned on cooking hamburger and BBQ chicken... We ran out of quite a number of ingredients and Zac volunteered to do the shopping all by himself!

Look at our sumptuous lunch!

I want to wash my shoes!

Our weekends are usually busy. We find ourselves running from one place to another, rushing to get our marketing done, run errands, visit our parents, etc etc. And most importantly, ensure that the kids' school work is complete. Madness!!!

Anyway, Zac has been wanting to wash his school shoes himself. But we really couldn't afford the time to let him do it.

Today, since we are forced to stay indoors due to the haze, its the perfect time to show him the skills to get that sparkly white shoes!
And he did it! Exceed our expectations! A good scrub and his grey shoes turned white!

Happy Mother's Day!

So this is project MDP (Mother's Day Parade) which the kids have been talking about all week... Woke me up at 8am and Nana began her speech and song performance. Then Zac walked in carefully with my breakfast. And a flower was presented...
Moved me to tears when dear said he saw Nana dropped the flower on the road while he was driving home. Without looking out for any incoming vehicles, she rushed back to pick this flower up... This was how important this flower and project was to her...
Happy Mother's Day to all mums out there!

Our Drama King and Queen

Me and hubby have always been our kids' biggest fans! Believe it or not, they have been dramatic all their life. Regardless of whatever the situation is, they never fail to exaggerate things. Wonder who they got this from... Ehmmm...

Anyway, there was a musical audition held in school on 31st October 2014. Both kids voluntarily gathered information about it and only told us when they got home that evening.

Contestants had to choose a song and sing without any background music on. After careful thoughts, Zac decided to sing "The Lazy Song" by Bruno Mars, while Nana settled for "Little Me" by Little Mix. Looking at how confident they were, and how much fun they were having, I knew they got it from their papa. He has always been our family singer - entertaining us at home, during our car rides, at Karaoke lounges. Thanks dear!

2 weeks ago, after close to half a year, results were finally out. Unfortunately, Zac didn't make it through to the final round. We really thought he had great potentials. :(

And today, we had Nana coming back with a piece of paper, exclaiming Good News! Our dear girl made it! She is in for the School Musical Production! Our bb is going to be a performer! How exciting!

Anyway, picture below was taken at Universal Studios Hollywood when she was 3! A real drama queen indeed!

Big changes for 2015

Happy 2015 everyone! Have you thought of your new year resolutions yet?

Anyway, it's the first day of school today. Zac is now in P4 and Nana in P2. Can't believe how fast time flies... My babies are no longer babies.

Ever since the bad experiences with maids, both kids requested to go to a Before/After School Student Care Service instead... They no longer want to be taken care of by a maid...

It was such a tough decision. So many factors to consider. Despite the many worries we had, the biggest achievement we attained out of this new arrangement is watching the 2 children be independent. Zac being the older one, helped to send Nana to student care before going off to school... They look out for each other. Heartwarming to see them together...

We are proud parents!
